7U and 8U Hive Academy

This program is for children born in 2013 (7U) and 2012 (8U). Parent coaches conduct one training session per week with the guidance of the Age Group Directors and professional staff.  7U teams play one 4v4 game (no goalkeepers) and 8U teams play one 5v5 game (no goalkeepers) each weekend (Saturday’s). Games consist of two, 20 minute halves.

Time and Location: 7U players will train on Monday’s beginning August 26th.  7U girls will train from 5:30 - 6:30pm and 7U boys will train from 6:45 - 7:45pm.  8U players will train on Wednesday’s beginning August 28th. 8U girls will train from 5:30 - 6:30pm and 8U boys will train from 6:45 - 7:45pm.  All training will take place at Ta-Ha-Zouka Park.

Uniforms:  All players must purchase the required uniform for 7U and 8U.  The uniform consists of a white training shirt and an adidas light blue jersey.  Other recommended pieces include navy shorts and white socks, however players may wear shorts and socks of their choosing in any color.  ESC uniform pieces can be purchased at Soccer Internationale (2541 S 132nd St, Omaha, NE 68144).

Games:  All 7U and 8U games will be held at Ta-Ha-Zouka Park.  Games are played on Saturday’s.  7U teams play one 4v4 game (no goalkeepers).  8U teams play one 5v5 game (no goalkeepers). Games consist of two, 20 minute halves.  The team listed first on the schedule (home team) will wear the light blue jersey; the second team listed (away team) will wear the white jersey.  Game schedules will be released on August 30th, 2019.  

What to Wear & Bring to Training:  Soccer ball, water, shin guards, tennis shoes or soccer cleats.  Players should wear comfortable, athletic clothing for playing soccer.

7U and 8U Parent Coaches’ Meeting:  All parent coaches should plan to attend the beginning of season coaches’ meeting held by the Hive Directors.  On Saturday, August 24th, ESC will be hosting a Continuing Education Program clinic at Thrive Space from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Parent coaches are encouraged to attend the whole session but are only required to come to the Hive breakout session where we will go over expectations for the season from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.
